🚀 BIOBIT project is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher at WUT!

We are looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher n the field of pavement engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials engineering to become part of the BIOBIT project at the Department of Road Construction Technology of Warsaw University of Technology.

🔬 Research scope

The post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for:

  • conducting experimental and analytical research on the physicochemical, thermal, and rheological properties of bio-modified bitumen,
  • evaluating the durability and aging resistance of bio-bitumen under different conditioning and environmental scenarios,
  • performing statistical analysis and integrating experimental data to support material characterization and modelling,
  • contributing to the development of scientific publications and dissemination of research results at international conferences.
🎯 Requirements
  • PhD degree in civil engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field, and an MSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline,
  • very good command of English (minimum B2 level); knowledge of Polish will be considered an asset,
  • scientific profile aligned with road construction technology,
  • knowledge of rheological and chemical characterization of bitumen and polymer materials,
  • ability to analyze material properties (viscoelastic rheology, statistical analysis, interpretation of results, scientific publishing in JCR journals);
  • at least 3 years of research experience in bitumen rheology and/or physicochemical properties of petrochemical materials;
  • experience in presenting research results at international conferences.

Eligibility:
Candidates must have obtained their PhD within 7 years prior to 1 January of the year of employment (according to NCN regulations).

💼 Employment conditions
  • Full-time employment until 31 December 2029. Shorter employment periods are possible, provided they are not shorter than 24 months.
  • Salary: approx. PLN 9,300 gross/month,
  • Location: Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering.
